This depends both on the type of weather conditions you prefer as well as your schedule. Early velvet hunts start mid-August, and hunting continues through January. September weather is generally the warmest, with highs often around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The last week in September and the first week in October boast peak fall colors, offering cooler temps and great scenery! October is generally a little cooler with highs in the 50’s – 60’s.

The deer rut begins by the end of October continues through the first few weeks of November. This is some hunter’s favorite time to be in the woods. The deer put on quite the show!

We typically see our first snow in the North Woods by Thanksgiving. If you want a snowy hunt, pick a time in December or January. Things get very quiet in the woods after the leaves have dropped and the ground is blanketed in snow. Our enclosed and heated hunting blinds will keep you comfortable!

No, there are no firearm restrictions.
